RESTAURANT - BRUXIE


WENT TO RESTAURANT BRUXIE AT BREA, CA. THEY ARE FAMOUS FOR THEIR WAFFLE SANDWICHES.  I'VE NEVER HAD IT BEFORE, SO WHEN I READ THE REVIEWS ON THE INTERNET, I THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT I GOTTA GIVE IT A TRY.  BASICALLY, IT'S A SANDWICH WITH WAFFLE INSTEAD OF BREAD.  IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD.  LOVED THE SWEET AND SAVORY COMBINED. 

WE WENT TO THE ONE AT BREA.  IT'S AT THE CORNER RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE MOVIE THEATER. IT WAS PACKED WHEN WE GOT THERE.

HERE'S THEIR MENU.  THERE ARE A LOT OF SANDWICHES TO CHOOSE FROM

THIS IS OUR NUMBER TAG.  PLACE IT ON THE TABLE, AND THE SERVER WILL FIND YOU.

MY CHICKEN AND WAFFLE SANDWICH.  IT WAS VERY GOOD.  THE FRIED CHICKEN WAS TNEDER AND JUICY, AND IT WAS ALL WHITE MEAT.

WE HAD COKE TO GO WITH OUR SANDWICHES AND IT WAS PERFECT.  IT WAS A FUN EXPERIENCE AND WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK TO TASTE THE REST OF THE MENU.

QUINOA SALAD

MADE QUINOA SALAD WITH THE FETA CHEESE I GOT FROM PAPA CRISTOS. 
IT WAS REFRESHING, LIGHT AND YET FLAVORFUL.  IT WAS FUN AND EASY TO MAKE. 
THIS IS HOW I MADE MINE.  THERE ARE ABOUT 6 SERVINGS.
 CHOP UP 2 CLOVES OF GARLIC
INFUSE CHOPPED GARLIC INTO EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

MAKE SALAD DRESSING - MIX DRIED OREGANO LEAVES, GARLIC OLIVE OIL,
RED WINE VINEGAR, FRESH SQUEEZED LEMON JUICE,
FRESH GROUND PEPPER AND SEA SALT.

COOK QUINOA WITH CHICHEN STOCK.  COOK UNTIL CHICKEN STOCK IS FULLY ABSORBED. ABOUT 20 MIN SEE YOUR QUINOA PACKAGE FOR SPECIFIC COOKING DIRECTION.

BOIL CHICKEN BREAST WITH WATER AND SALT.  CHOP UP INTO CUBES.

CHOP UP 4 GREEN ONIONS.

CHOP UP 1 RED ONION.


CUBE 1 ENGLISH CUCUMBER.




I USED A BIG CHUNCK OF FETA, BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS MUCH. 1/4LB  WOULD BE AS GOOD.

 MIX EVERYTHING IN A BIG SALAD BOWL.  I ALSO ADDED WHITE CORN AND YELLOW GRAPE TOMATO.


FINISHED!

IT'S DELICIOUS AND SUCCESSFUL FOR THE FIRST ATTEMPT. IT'LL BE A STAPLE FOR THIS SUMMER :)

MASON JAR - LAMP

I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A LAMP FOR MY DESK, BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING I REALLY LIKE.  THEN I SAW A PHOTO OF A MASON JAR LAMP ONLINE AND THOUGHT IT'LL BE FUN TO MAKE A DESK LAMP MYSELF, SO HERE'S HOW IT GOES.


THIS IS THE MASON JAR I'LL BE WORKING WITH

FIRST, DRILL A HOLE ON THE CAP.  IT SHOULD BE BIG ENOUGH SO THE CORD CAN GO THROUGH

GOT THIS RUBBER GROMMET FROM HOMEDEPOT.  I PUT A RUBBER GROMMET SO THE SHARP EDGE DOEN'T CUT INTO THE CORD.

HERE'S THE CORD I'M USING.  I GOT THIS FROM AMAZON,  BUT JUST SAW THE SAME THING AT HOMEDEPOT TODAY.

FEED THE CORD THROUGH THE HOLE ON CAP. MUST DO THIS BEFORE ATTACHING THE SOCKET.

KEYLESS SOCKET IT'S WHERE THE LIGHT BULB IS GOING. 


ATTACH THE CORE TO THE KEYLESS SOCKET.


PUT IN THE LIGHT BULB AND PUT THE CAP BACK ON.


A LITTLE DECORATION FOR THE LAMP.  JUTE ROPE WITH BURLAP.

LAST TOUCH, MORE JUTE ROPE ON THE BODY OF THE JAR, THEN IT'S FINISHED!


THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS WHEN IT TURNS ON.  SO PRETTY!
